Double-Blind Review Process

Each manuscript submitted to the editorial office of «Studi Germanici» undergoes an assessment by at least one member of the editorial board to evaluate its quality. If the submission is deemed suitable, it is sent to two ‘blind’ peer reviewers for a more thorough evaluation, following the double-blind review process, where the author does not know the identity of the reviewers, nor do they know the identity of the author.

The journal’s editorial board must select reviewers based on skill, experience and the scientific quality of their research.

The purpose of the ‘double-blind’ review is to ensure an impartial assessment, avoiding prejudice tied to factors like the author’s reputation, institute, gender or nationality; to promote an assessment based exclusively on the scientific and methodological quality of the work; to ensure a more thorough and in-depth examination; to minimise the risk of errors or unbalanced opinions on the part of an individual reviewer.

The peer review process is managed by the journal’s editorial office. In the event of conflicting reviews, the editorial board may decide to consult a third reviewer.
